How is ABV calculated

In the PLAATO Pro App, the Alcohol by Volume (ABV) is determined using the Original Gravity (OG) and the most recent density reading or Final Gravity (FG).

Initially, the OG is recorded as the first PLAATO Pro reading until a manual OG reading is provided. The ABV is subsequently calculated throughout the fermentation process based on the latest density reading. Should an FG be entered at the conclusion of fermentation, the ABV will be computed using this value instead of the PLAATO Pro reading.
