Why is my PLAATO Pro draining battery fast?
The PLAATO Pro runs on C-cell batteries, and its battery life is designed to last a minimum of three months to ensure reliable data transmission.
If your batteries are depleting faster than expected, a few factors could be at play:
-
Battery Quality:
If your battery level displays as medium or low shortly after installation, the batteries themselves may be the issue. Low-quality or faulty batteries often underperform. We recommend using high-quality, brand-name C-cell batteries for best results. -
Internet Connection:
A weak Wi-Fi signal can cause the PLAATO Pro to work harder to stay connected, which in turn drains the battery faster. Check that your Wi-Fi strength is between 80–100% at the installation site. If you're facing connectivity issues, feel free to reach out to us at support@plaato.io for assistance and recommendations. -
Ambient Temperature:
Like all battery-powered devices, the PLAATO Pro can be affected by cold environments. Low temperatures slow down the chemical reactions inside the battery, leading to faster drain or sudden drops in power. If your cellar is particularly cold, consider adding insulation around the sensor to help maintain a more stable operating temperature.
For continued peak performance, be sure to monitor battery levels regularly and address any environmental or connectivity factors that may affect lifespan.
